Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How much does it cost to play?

Answer: $3.00 per session per person or $5.00 per for a family.

Question: Do I have to join the club in order to play?

Answer: Actually when you play and pay your session fee, you are officially a club member.

Question:  Do you supply equipment or do I need to bring my own?

Answer: We do NOT supply equipment. You should bring your own paddle and at least one USATT approved ball. Approved balls are now made of plastic and are 40 mm. (See our official rule page for all table tennis rules)

Question:  How many tables do you have?

Answer:  We have 8 tables, plus a table with a ball machine.

Question:  How do I get a table and find someone to play?

Answer:  Tables are first come first serve. If all tables are occupied, then you challenge the winner of the table you want to play on. Winner gets to stay up and play as long as they continue to win.

Question:  Do I need special shoes or clothing?

Answer:  Some type of tennis or athletic shoes are recommended and any type of comfortable  clothing is fine, so long as it is not white or very light colored. Darker colors enable the ball to be more easily seen. by your opponent.

Question:  How Good do I have to be?

Answer:  People of all levels, including beginners are welcome. If you come consistently you will improve fairly rapidly, but keep in mind many of our members have been playing a very long time so don't get discouraged if it takes you a while to catch up!

Question:  Is this a family friendly environment?

Answer:  Yes, it is family friendly and here is what that means. Loud cursing, paddle throwing and other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Young people are welcome so long as they are old enough to participate or to sit quietly and watch. We are not a baby sitting service.
